I'm planning on setting up a site dedicated to clips of text I find, be it from a book, website, magazine piece or tabloid feature. Clips are extended quotes, or quotes that are long enough to contain quotes that can stand by themselves. Take for example the following quote, from the book Revolutionary Road by... Book II: Hear He, Hear He: At the Train Station
Book II is called "Hear He, Hear He". Writing from a different perspective now. I think this should be one of the most interesting parts of my novel. Current word count stands at 6501. My hair is growing all over the place. You know how hair grows when it’s short? Badly. Yes, that’s right. Badly.... Continue Reading →
Chapter 6: Life as it was
A short chapter to conclude Book I. The next book will start getting interesting. We'll start hearing the voices in Dresden's head, see what made him do what he did. This is the entire chapter. Enjoy. And so life was as it was before the two had met. He carried on his semi-reclusive lifestyle, while... Continue Reading →
Are We Chinese Losing Our Culture?
A discourse on what culture really means. Is culture based on race? Is it based on skin-colour? Culture is really what we define it as, so why kick up such a big deal when "culture" is threatened?
Chapter 5: The Call
Really falling back. But I'm optimistic about the last leg, so I won't be too worried yet. Shall let the story get a feel in my mind, as I'm currently a little lost as to where it should go... Current word count stands at 5074. Ro expected Dres to call that night. She really wanted... Continue Reading →
Chapter 4: The Apology
Ooh, weekend's come and gone, and I didn't write at all on Saturday! Falling back a little on the averages, but if I'm not wrong, the last week should be the one filled with the most activity, so I'm not too worried as yet. Present word count at 4,286. “Hey,” said Dresden, “I’m just joking.... Continue Reading →
Christmas Look
I've changed the look of eDonn.com for Christmas. This theme had actually been in the works for quite a while, but it was taking a little too much energy to complete. I had to split myself between reading, exercising, television, and more recently my NaNoWriMo attempt.
Chapter 3: The Art of Rhetoric
Life seems to be getting harder. I don't know why, but although NaNoWriMo was supposed to be fun, it's giving me stress and pressure I haven't felt since I left the army. Especially now that I'm trying to do my website as well, this writing is quite labourous. In a way though, this difficulty is... Continue Reading →
Chapter 2: At the Library
It's currently at 1924 words, and I'm feeling so tired already! Man, this is going to be hard! Here's the next excerpt from Chapter 2: Dresden secretly followed the girl for a while. He felt that as long as it was on the way to where he wanted to go -- in this instance, the... Continue Reading →
NaNoWriMo has Started
